Xm and Sirius collaborate for the iPhone

Rumors had it that there is currently an application for the iPod Touch and iPhone that is currently being developed. This application would allow the users to gain access to their XM and Sirius radio accounts. According to the reports from Orbitcast, they already have a “covert operative” on the alpha team of the application.

However, since the application is supposedly in alpha, anything regarding the application on progress might still change between now and the release of the application.

The application is currently under the GeeksToolBox and its partner – NiceMac. Reports have confirmed that the application is under the development of NiceMac for their OSX application that would allow the users to steam Sirius radio called StarPlayr.

The StarPlayr that can be used for the iPhone is said to stream the XM and Sirius radio. It would also display the name of the artist, the title of the song, some basic information about the song, the cover art, and even the lyrics of the song so that you can sing with it (with right words) wherever you are.

What’s great about this application is that there is no need to unlock or jailbreak your current iPhone, may it be a first generation iPhone or the 3G iPhone. Expect this application to hit the App Store soon.
