Copy-Paste Inter-Application for the iPhone will soon be available
People had so many complaints regarding the 3G iPhone and one of the device’s flaws is the lack of the copy-paste function. One independent developer named Zac White has just unveiled an open-source solution that he created called OpenClip. This is a standard for the other developers of the iPhone application.

However, Zac White is not the first developer to think of that idea. Another developer named Preston Monroe recently created a hack which he called iCopy. This allows the iPhone users to copy and paste between e-mails and applications in the web browser.
OpenClip is actually not a stand alone application. Instead, it is a technology that the developers may be able to use in their iPhone applications if they want to participate. As of the moment, there are still no available applications that support OpenClip but it is expected soon to be used in Roget’s Thesaurus and American Heritage Dictionary application. It will also be used in MagicPad (a notepad application), Twittelator,Wall Street Worlds, and more.
The users of the iPhone may be able to use the copy-paste function from one OpenClip application to another. But it can’t be used by the developer applications that are not participating or applications from Apple Inc. such as the e-mail client of the iPhone or the Safari browser.
