With all the native applications for 3G iPhone sprouting like mushrooms (thanks to iPhone 2.0 SDK), Apple Inc. has now decided to limit the size of the application to 2 GB only. Apple Inc. did not mention as to why they set a limit for the applications but the developers surely would not mind.

iPhone 3G

According to the reliable sources from Apple Inc. they said that they stumbled on an internal document in Apple that provides details about the nature of the upcoming App Store. This includes the limit on the application that the developers would submit to Apple Inc.

The mobile game developers were not actually worried about the limit. Most of them said that the 2 GB space is already too much for the native

application that they were creating. They are already contented with their games that have a size of 50 MB up to 100 MB. The same goes for other developers as well. And although the maximum size of the 3G iPhone is 16 GB, users would prefer to use most of that space for their contents, personal data, and alike, rather than be used by the enormous native applications.

Another information that the reliable sources shared is the pricing details for these applications. Some of the applications will not cost the users anything. However, there will be a minimum charge for all the applications that needs to be bought. The minimum charge would be $0.99. The maximum price that a developer may charge can only be as much as $999.99.
