Apple Inc.’s iPhone is now facing several issues which Steve Jobs will be over by September. This includes the device’s battery life, the dropped calls, the crashes, and more. But despite these issues, an analyst still sees great market potential on Apple Inc.’s device in the near future.

According to the BusinessWeek, the noted Gene Munster, an analyst from Piper Jaffray said that the second-generation iPhone might have as much as 13 million units sold by the year 2008 ends. Moreover, Gene Munster also said that the corporate-friendly gadget will sell as much as 45 million units on 2009. The figures given by Gene Munster two to three times higher compared to the forecasts of the other analysts. They said that 11 million units will be sold in 2008 and there would only be 26 million units in 2009.

The articles from BusinessWeek also said that Apple Inc.’s new production goals will be 40 up to 45 million iPhone handsets starting this month until August of 2009. This simply fits in the forecast of Gene Munster nicely. Of course, the supply of the second-generation iPhone is just half of the picture. The demand for the second-generation iPhone greatly depends on Apple Inc. and the carriers but they have been fixing this issue quickly.
