Marking the huge success of Apple iPhones, several technology giants are contemplating taking on the iPhone, with similar or a better specification. With many others in the fray like Google and Microsoft among many others, there has been a recent news of pioneer cell phone company Nokia coning up with a new model which would give Apple iPhones a run for their money.
In a recent development, Nokia was inadvertently found by a German website *Spiegel Online,* posting specifications of the new N96 phone, which can possibly take on the Apple iPhone. Although, rumor has it that Nokia has removed those pages after posting them briefly.
The new model is specified to be less volumetric than the current N95. Comparably, the volume of *N96 will possibly be 96 cm3 in comparison to 92 cm3 of N95. And the length will be 103 mm and width 55 mm in comparison to iPhone’s 115 mm length and 61 mm width. While the depth of the N96 will remain 18 mm in comparison to 12 mm of iPhone.
Although,
There are also reports that the battery of N96 will support a talk time of up to 220 minutes. These are in fact encouraging news for the technology scenario as well as the end-user, who definitely will have a good bargain in the ‘War of the Giants’. Apple’s indication of a possible price cut of about $100 on both iPhones and the iPod Touch is definitely a step to capture the maximum market share until more and more similar ‘iPhones’ surface.
Apple is also set to launch the much-awaited 3G iPhone, which they are promoting as the next generation iPhones. So, it’s all about hitting when its is hot.
