Apple’s now famous App Store has passed the 100,000 approved iPhone app mark. Truly amazing to think about.

The mark is an “unofficial” milestone of sorts, however, as the count of currently available apps stands at only 92,000 or so. The difference results from the removal of applications from the App Store by either Apple or the applications’ developers, but based on knowledge passed to us from various sites and blogs, the 100,000 app mark should be passed for certain in the next week or so.
Considering how short of a time the store has been open, its truly an astounding watermark to pass, and the future looks even brighter for the App Store.
Apple’s most recent announcement of App Store application count occurred in late September, when the store passed the breathtaking two billion downloads mark, with 85,000 available apps at the time.
Some analysts predict the 200,000 mark will be in sight early/mid next year, with 250,000 apps by the end of 2010. Too many choices – not necessarily a bad conundrum to have, iPhone users.

It looks like Apple has released a new iPhone 3.1.3 update for iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS users.
Google will be releasing their Nexus One aka Google phone today. Will Nexus One be an iPhone killer? The answer is no.
No, the falling Apple logo on the Google hompage doesn't have anything to do with Apple Inc. It is there to celebrate the birthday of Sir Isaac Newton.
As I was browsing Google today I noticed a new logo which Google created to honor Sir Isaac Newton.
For me, the best free iPhone app in the Apple App Store would have to be the Dragon Dictation iPhone app. The Dragon Dictation iPhone app allows you to speak in to your iPhone and have your speech converted to text.
Google is working on a new phone, and it’s called the Nexus One. No, Nexus One is not a code name, it’s the real name of the phone that you see in the picture above.
The much anticipated debut of the iPhone in South Korea finally took place on Saturday and it was a huge hit.
As has been said here and many other places, one can only imagine that Apple was ready to do battle with the Droid and that they were merely waiting for the release of their competitions top product before finalizing their latest version.
Lots of choices, not a bad thing. Lots of crap apps. I hope apple improves their search functionality and borrows a few things from the Google toolbox.
They need to figure out how to thin this out in a way that users can find the apps they are looking for. 100k apps !
How are you going to search through this lot ?
In one year from now theres going to be 250k apps , it means most apps will never be seen and unless you have a ton of funding to get your app promoted outside the app store the future for small developers look bleak.
Sub catorgories inside main catorgory titles might help discovery ? As would more precise keyword rules .
They gotta do something right ?
