NeoMedia Technologies Inc. (popularly known as NEOM) recently announced that the company’s mobile barcode scanning application called NeoReader may now be downloaded on Apple Inc.’s latest App Store without spending a cent. It can be used on the iPhone, both first and second generation of the platform.

The NeoReader lets your iPhone to be a barcode scanner that would provide the access to the mobile content as you click on 2D barcodes.
After downloading from the latest App Store via Wi-Fi or cell network, the iPhone users would simply install the application on their gadget. To those who are interested to get the barcode scanning application on their iPhone, they may also download the NeoReader from iTunes.
According to Iaian McCready, the CEO if NeoMedia Technologies Inc., they are excited that the NeoReader was approved by Apple Inc. so that it could work on the iPhone. Through the use of the NeoReader, iPhone users would no longer type long url’s on their smartphone. Moreover, they no longer have to go through cumbersome menus. The barcodes from printed mediums such as product coupon, movie trailer and more serves as the hyperlink which would take the iPhone users on their specific web pages.
