Until now, the demand for the second-generation iPhone from Apple Inc. remains strong. This might force the company to increase the production of the device beyond their original estimates.

iPhone

According to the report from TechCrunch, Apple Inc. has already asked the Foxconn, also known as the Hon Hai, to increase the 3G iPhone’s production to at least 800,000 units every week. If that would be the production pace, Apple Inc. will be distributing at least 40 million 3G iPhone units every year. This is a far cry from what the analysts are expecting from the company.

However, this bump in the production capacity does not necessarily

mean that Hon Hai can keep up with the pace. The report from TechCrunch said that it might face issues regarding the quality control.

There are no sales of the second-generation iPhone for at least six weeks now. Analysts are expecting that once the 3G iPhone is back in the market, it would have the same hype and demand just like what happened last July 11 when it was first launched. Again, if Apple Inc. would not produce enough units, they will another problem keeping up with the demand.

Apple Inc. must really have an increased production especially now that the holiday season is getting nearer and nearer.
