If it comes from Synergy, it must be good. Synergy Research Group has just announced that they already have their market share report for the mobile handsets which covers the second quarter of year 2008.

Even though there is an economic challenge in United States and most parts of the world, the market of smartphone in US has increased twice as much during 2008’s Q2.

Apple Inc. is still breaking record. According to the report from Synergy, the company is shipping more than a million units for three consecutive quarters now. The shipments of the Apple units decreased during this year’s second quarter because people were anticipating for the 3G iPhone

back then. However, Apple Inc. still retained in the second spot for this year’s first half. Motorola is just a few numbers away from Apple Inc. taking the third spot.

Motorola is currently the leading vendor of mobile handset in United States. The company which has at least 25 percent share gradually shows that they are having a difficult time keeping up with the lucrative business of smartphones in United States.

Although the iPhone from Apple Inc. gathered so much hype and attention even before it was launched, Research in Motion’s BlackBerry is still on the lead, eating as much as 46 percent of the market share during the first half of 2008.
