The iPhones have revolutionized the technology of Multitouch and Apple Inc. is leaving no stones untouched to cash on in this ever-enthusiastic market. It will not be exaggerating to say that iPhones seem to have mesmerized the world with the skillful integration of touch technology where a user can interact with just the touch of fingertips.

Apple has launched iPhones only in America now and AT & T is its partner service provider. With the initial launch of iPhones, Apple had limited the purchase of iPhones to five units per user to manage supply in the face of uncertain demand.

Later, due to reports of possible resell of iPhones by users, Apple made a bid to discourage would-be resellers, who wanted to unlock the device and sell on a high margin to customers willing to pay. They instituted a new limit of two iPhones per customer and even barred cash purchases to keep a track on the transaction processes.

However lately, Apple is back to its five units per user mode. This transition in policy

due to changes in Apple’s official software updates which seem to have made a breakthrough for effectively bricking unlocked phones, in addition to a credit card-only policy. This Apple Inc. believes, would help checking the illegal reselling of iPhones to a great extent.

Some interesting reports about Apple’s two-per-customer signs in its stores and the revival of the ‘five units per user’ policy has opened the doors for hypocrisy. There have also been conflicting reports of wealthy Americans customers allowed to buy 5 units even when 2 units per customer rule was in vogue. This has also be responsible for the rise of the market share for is smartphones – the iPhones.

There has also been a rising speculation in the iPhone market, about the increase of this limit to five-per-customer; as an intelligent move to clear inventory and make way for the possible launch of 3G iPhone. However, market analyst are skeptical about the timing, as this period reflects more of a company’s bid to chase Q4 numbers and focuss on sales in the festive season.
