According to an Apple employee, the senior executives from Apple and Immersion met once last Tuesday and again last Friday to discuss the licensing and implantation of iPhone haptics.

The rumored Apple killer from Nokia called the Tube 5800 have already licensed haptic technology, which would enable the device to incorporate various tactile feedbacks.

Haptic technology is a technology that interfaces users via sense of touch by applying vibrations, motions and forces to the users. However, this technology does not incorporate tactile or touch sensors in measuring the pressure exerted by users to the device.

Many users have been complaining about Apple’s on-screen keyboard that is reportedly to lack “haptic response”. As such, users are unable to feel the keys since there is no pressure back on their fingers when releasing the virtual key. With haptic technology, users can use touchscreen and in turn, receive feedback as though pressing on real buttons due to its vibration technology.
