AT&T in misery, rivals are ecstatic

Analysts said that the second-generation iPhone sold as much as one million units after a week since its debut. Some stores have run out of stocks during the 3G iPhone’s first week. There are even reports that 2 more million units were sold afterwards. However, the July debut of the 3G iPhone has been nothing but a headache for the AT&T. The first buyers complained about the poor network connections as well as dropped calls.

While others are pointing their fingers to Apple Inc. many are still trying to give the blame to the exclusive carrier in America. But no matter who is to blame, the rivals of AT&T are now fed up with all the attention that the cellular network has been getting, are very happy to attack and exploit the discontent of the complaining iPhone users.

From the latest advertisement of Verizon Wireless as seen on a newspaper, the company stated that the “phone is only as good as the network it is on.” (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/index.html). Without a doubt, they are lobbing a shot at the 3G network of AT&T.

A phone is only as good as its network

The situation for the AT&T today is very tricky since the stakes are very high. If consumers can easily forgive the glitches and the issues from Apple Inc. the network provider is not given such luxury. The 3G network of AT&T is supposed to make things easier for the consumers such as video streaming and web surfing.
