AT&T not to charge users extra for MMS messages with the iPhone
AT&T will not charge iPhone users with text messaging plans anything extra for MMS messages, according to a FAQ list posted online.

Support for MMS messaging will be included in iPhone OS 3.0, which is launching this Wednesday, June 17 as widely reported. Unfortunately, AT&T will not have its network ready to provide MMS service to iPhone users on that date, and has only said that the feature would be activated “later this summer.” Which is very disappointing, needless to say, to many iPhone users, who already question AT&T’s ability to fully support the iPhone already.
In addition, the company has also committed to providing tethering support for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G S, although it will only say the feature is coming “in the future”, which is several months typically in AT&T timeframes.

I hate that ATT is not ready for this. How long have they known about the OS 3.0 update. I know we, the public, have known for a while. Why then, for a company that works closely with apple, has ATT not prepared for this before hand…sort of makes Apple look bad.
If I were apple I would start searching for other mobile companies to supply iphones with. If they did go with more than one company, I have a feeling that many ATT people would remove their service from ATT and go elsewhere. The only reason i switched from verizon to ATT is because of the iphone.
