Last Wednesday, Dan Hesse, the CEO of Sprint, made a pitch for their new device called Instinct. During his speech, he turned up the heat by saying that the 3G iPhone may only get disappointments from the high-speed network of AT&T.

The speech was done at his keynote in Las Vegas during the XTcomm08 trade show. In a way, Dan Hesse said that the high-speed network of AT&T is still limited. He did not directly said it was Apple Inc.’s 3G iPhone but he said it like so: “”One carrier has announced a new hot 3G device. But their coverage is limited so users may be disappointed.” This was quoted by the InternetNews.com

In the first-generation iPhone, the speed of the connection was one of the problems that users were complaining about. They said that it was almost impossible

to browse the Web using the wireless network of AT&T.

There are also some critics who warned the interested 3G iPhone users that the 3G network of AT&T may become a problem for them.

A writer from the New York Times, David Pogue, shared his comment in a post made online about the what-might-have-been’s of the 3G iPhone. He said that he was surprised that nobody reacted about the speed of the 3G iPhone during Steve Jobs’ keynote. He was wondering if the people around him that time do not know that the 3G phones would not have a faster speed unless the user is located in a metro area where 3G networks has been installed by the carrier. David Pogue also added that so far, he is still not seeing the media or anyone online express their concern regarding this topic.
