NetBlender’s newly-launched BD Touch Software Development Kit, simply known as the SDK, enables your iPhone to connect to any Blu-ray Disc players and to your Sony PS3 using the WiFi connection of your smartphone, while the BD Live network connection of Blu-ray players connect the two devices.

Using the BD Touch SDK, anyone can easily develop free or even commercial applications on a Mac, which can then be distributed as other iPhone applications. Some features of the BD Touch SDK include pushing digital copies of movies to your iPhone from the Blu-ray disc menu, organizing your Blu-ray disc collection, updating your rental queue, displaying movie trivia, movie playback,

turning existing Blu-ray discs into games that use your iPhone as the controller and viewing user-created content in sync with the disc.

NetBlender CEO John Harrington said, ““Having spent the past decade building interactive video products we are thrilled to bring together two of the most interactive consumer products ever created with BD Touch. We began R&D on integrating the two devices right after I experienced the iPhone Multi-Touch interface for the first time.”

The great thing about the BD Touch is it is a two-way communication technology. As such, your Blu-ray discs can send and receive data, such as video, text, images and audio from your iPhone.
