Be careful when buying iPhones – it might be a knock-off
3G iPhones will become in demand this next few days. And although there is already a new version of the infamous iPhone, the first version is still a hit for those who haven’t had it yet.
And because of this, iPhone imitations as well as other Apple Inc. devices are now on the loose. Recently, a buyer from eBay purchased an iPod, or he thought so. The device mimicked the feel and of course, the look of a real iPod.
Another incident is that a tech savvy thought his family member bought a real iPhone. However, after posting at a forum on how he could make the alleged-iPhone work, he realized that it was actually a knock-off. At the same forum, he also posted some of the pictures of his iPhone that was purchased from China. When other members of the forum saw the photos, they were convinced that the device is a fake version of Apple Inc.’s iPhone.
The packaging of the fake iPhone looks really authentic. And if you would give a suddent glance, the fake iPhone is pretty much like the original iPhone. Although the proportions were quite off, the icons that can be seen on the fake-iPhone screen are identical. However, it has a Penguin icon that will give you a Chinese game.

The fake-iPhone can be connected to the desktop computer using a USB instead of an iPod connector. Aside from that, the screen bezel is too high compared to the authentic iPhone. And the user already saw the home screen even if he didn’t actually activate the device, which is unusual for a real iPhone.
