CastCatcher denied entry into App Store due to “bandwidth concerns”
Apple has rejected a recent update to return7′s Internet Radio application CastCatcher into the App Store because of bandwidth concerns, according to a post by one of the developers. The rejection comes after Apple allowed three prior releases into the Store, which seems strange.

The blog post cites a quote from Apple that reads, “CastCatcher Internet Radio cannot be posted to the App Store because it is transferring excessive volumes of data over the cellular network, which as outlined in the iPhone SDK Agreement section 3.3.15, is prohibited.”. It doesn’t seem to function any differently than previous versions, so many are crying foul.
In addition to stating that Apple had no issues with the three previous versions of CastCatcher, the developer also takes exception to the app being denied for bandwidth usage because other radio apps on the store also use the cellular network, and using similar coding and techniques.
This one will make more than a few iPhone developers steamed up, we’re almost certain.
