Best Buy has announced that they have begun selling the iPhone 3G in their 970 stores, the first third-party retailer to do so. It was previously only available at the 197 Apple store locations and 1800 AT&T Wireless locations. This move will essentially increase the locations selling the iPhone by 50%.

O2 the UK’s sole provider of the Apple iPhone have now announced the release date for the iPhone 3G as September 16th.

If you are anything like me then your shiny new iPhone is going to come in for some abuse during normal usuage. Slipping it into your pocket with coins and keys etc can easily scratch it.

O2 and the Carphonwarehouse now have stocks of the 16GB White iPhone. Up until now you could only buy the black version (that is if you were lucky enough to find one in stock).
