The video was produced by TUAW and published yesterday. It highlights one of the growing (abd disturbing) trends with the iPhone: the advent of gross-out apps being submitted and accepted by the App Store, apparently Apple’s way of loosening the reins on the control of the content in the App Store.

I personally think this is a good line to draw as far as content, but the fact I laughed at this segment tells me maybe i’m a bit of a hypocrite.

There are so many types of apps out there, that the iPhone was built to be pretty flexible in reading various types.

There have been a lot of interest in the iPhone after the previous ads aired, showing off UrbanSpoon for example, that displays nearby restaurants with phone numbers and food details randomly by “shaking” the iPhone, almost like a slot machine.

An interesting side note of this ad: It does display a notice about the fact that the displayed sequence was shortened a bit and edited down for the commercial, due to legal issues surrounding the previous ads that it made the iPhone appear faster than it really is, especially on AT&T’s 3G network.
