UK Wireless provider Orange issued a statement today stating that the carrier will begin offering the iPhone in the UK and related territories.

This effectively ends the exclusivity agreement that O2 has held for awhile now on the iPhone.

Multiple sources are reporting that that T-Mobile UK is in talks with Apple to bring the iPhone 3G – last year’s model – to its mobile service, taking away the phone’s exclusivity from competing carrier O2.

It appears that online retailer Play.com is now offering the British-buying public unlocked iPhones.

In a move that seems a little strange, Play.com has order pages live for both 8GB and 16GB models.

Mobile Today, which tracks mobile trends and sales figures in the UK, is reporting that the 3G iPhone is selling very well. Specifically, retailers are averaging 27,000 phones sold per week, which is considered very strong numbers for that part of the world.

That’s good news for Apple, especially since the 3G launch went rather poorly [...]

O2 the UK’s sole provider of the Apple iPhone have now announced the release date for the iPhone 3G as September 16th.

Pay & Go customers can now enjoy the iPhone 3G without a monthly contract. The new iPhone 3G 8GB for Pay & Go will be available for £349.99 and the 16GB version for £399.99.

O2 and the Carphonwarehouse now have stocks of the 16GB White iPhone. Up until now you could only buy the black version (that is if you were lucky enough to find one in stock).

Stock levels of iPhones in the UK are improving now with the Carphonewarehouse listing all stores with stock of the 8GB version [...]
