Aside from the 3G iPhone, there is another second-generation iPhone in the form of Sprint’s Instinct. So why do people call the Instinct as an iPhone imitation? Let us count the ways.

Steve Jobs should have made the 3G iPhone available in the market much sooner than July 11. Sprint Nextel Corp.’s Instinct was already out in the market last Friday. So far, this is the only thing that can be considered close to the Apple Inc.’s iPhone.

The Instinct is much like the real device from Apple Inc. It has a large screen with touch-screen features and also has a few buttons as well. And just like the iPhone, the features of the Instinct are also easy to use.

Instinct also tried to imitate iPhone’s web browsing features. Although it is not as pretty compared to the iPhone, the device also allows the user to

make use of the email quickly. Furthermore, users can also browse the web, navigate through the GPS system, send text messages, stream videos, and listen to the online radio.

The price of the 3G iPhone will be as low as $199 for the 8GB model. So does the Instinct. Both of these devices will also require a 2-year contract. Aside from that, the cheapest plan is almost the same, costing at least $69.99 every month.

Another similarity is that the two devices have cameras that have 2-megapixels only. Although the memory of the Instinct is only 2GB, users can expand the device’s memory by using MicroSD chips. But Sprint’s Instinct has some advantages over the 3G iPhone. Tech-reviewers said that the Instinct fits more comfortably in the pocket compared to the 3G iPhone. And unlike the second-generation iPhone from Apple Inc., Instinct can record videos and can even send MMS.
