Just a few days ago, AT&T announced from its website that they will allow FREE Wi-Fi access in various areas such as airports, universities, and even in Starbucks. But recently, Apple Inc.’s 3G iPhone carrier in United States said that the announcement was just a mistake.

The news regarding the free Wi-FI access hit most of the blogs for the last few days. From the website of AT&T it mentioned that AT&T knows that a free Wi-Fi is one of the best freebies for all the iPhone users. They will have more than 17,000 AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots around United States.

However, Wes Warnock, the spokesman for the AT&T, said that the announcement was just mistakenly published. AT&T did not made any notice that involves the free use of Wi-Fi. The webpage was just posted in error. They are now on the process of removing it from their website.

If you would remember, the same thing happened last May. This is when AT&T launched the free Wi-Fi access to the consumers of Laptop Connect. After few hours of posting the announcement on their webpage, the notice was promptly removed. They told the New York times that the announcement was just published in error.
