United Lemur, a gathering of veteran Mac and iPhone developers, announced the company’s first release, Puzzllotto for iPhone. Available sometime in the next few weeks with a $4.99 price tag, Puzzllotto is described as a puzzle game with exploration qualities in the same vein as Zork and Myst, set in the dark jungles of an eighth continent.

Detailed graphics and audio includes nature sounds licensed from Dr. Douglas Quin, a veteran sound designer who also did the audio for the recently hyped Spore game.

At a press event on Thursday, it was said that ten percent of the company’s net revenue will go to various charities; in the case of Puzzllotto, to the Madagascar Fauna Group, an organization dedicated to protecting lemurs and other endangered wildlife in Madagascar. The company wants to be an advocate for indie iPhone developers, and create opportunities for developers to expose their products directly to the public without having to first raise capital or ante up their homes or life savings.
