I must respectfully disagree with this list. (A) NY Times - I’ve tried it and in my very subjective opinion I can acheive much better results just using Google Reader with sources linked to CNN, MSNBC, FOX and all of the oner news agencies. So this one maybe a valuble application (especially that it is free), but the content represents the views of only one organization…
(B) AOL Radio - Again, in my very very subjective opinion, if all you want from your radio is music, this one is for you. On the other hands, I’d like to listen to sports (NHL anyone), news (CNN, please) and not just a music (after all, I’ve got an iPod build right into my iPhone). What would be really cool is to be able to listed to Sirius or XM on my iPhone, but it is my understanding that uSirius is not in the hurry to get their application into the App store…
eReader - Reading a book on the iPhone - what a horrible idea. With that screen staying on, you’ll have your battery last how long - 17 minutes? Come on, let’s get real here. If you do want to read a book with your iPhone - buy an Audio version.
What we really need on the iPhone is Free VOIP software, like iCall or Fring (that can use your existing SIP or Skype or simular cervice). That is what App store desperately needs…
Oh, by the way, I do not know anything about the guitar Hero or Tap Tap Revenge, but to be perfectly honest I did not really look at the applications that would allow me to just kill some time (for that purpose the App store has a “Stapler”)
Greg,
There is sirius and xm apps for the iphone.
