Apple Inc. has been hugely responsible for popularizing Multitouch with their most successful implementation in iPhones. You can say, Apple has pioneered Multitouch technology through iPhones just as it had popularized mouse and graphical interface decades ago.

The Multitouch has been quite a beneficiary for iPhones. You can rotate, flip and move images in an iPhone with just the touch of your fingertips. You can even list emails and play your favorite song. Multitouch in iPhones helps perform multitasking with ease. You can also make a phone call simultaneously while doing any other thing such as emailing a photo or surfing the web over a Wi-Fi connection.

In its latest venture, Google has unveiled its sleek version of iPhone interface with updated iPhone applications at the Macworld Show in San Francisco. The fundamentals to the new interface are that, it serves as a sole access point for Google services including Gmail, Reader, calendar and Picasa.

Google has expressed enthusiasm over the upgraded iPhone application, which they are confident will allow users to switch aptly between applications more effortlessly;




and access pre-configured and personalized information via the iGoogle application. Moreover, Google has revealed that its new interface in iPhones will update new e-mails automatically, thereby doing away with the need to refresh the inbox page manually.

Google is very positive about the success of this interactive application on Apple iPhones. In one of their official statement, Google reveals its intention to ‘expand this experience to international versions of the iPhone and to other platforms that offer similar usability and browser capabilities’.

It has also disclosed that one of Google’s goals in this endeavor to collaborate with iPhones is to support podiums like the iPhone, which are fulfilling the purpose of the mobile Web, in upholding responsibilities for devices like iPhones which conveys unique and compelling mobile experiences that improve people’s daily lives.

However, analysts believe that Google’s interest in the iPhone is twofold. One is, the rising graph of Web browsing on iPhones (iPhones constitute 20% of smartphones worldwide); and secondly, iPhone’s Safari browser uses WebKit, which is the same interpretation engine behind the Google Android project.
