Google’s elusive iPhone voice search app now available

Well it was expected last Friday but never materialized but finally Google’s updated Mobile App which now includes a voice search option is now available for download in the App Store.

Google Voice Search

For international users the voice search option is turned off by default but can be switched on by going to the settings section. Underneath the Voice Search setting you will see

Voice Search only works in English and works best for North American English accents.

This serves as a good warning as on testing it out is doesn’t really understand a British accent or maybe it is just me.

Matt Cutts, Google’s head of spam and a long time iPhone user who has had access to the new app for a few weeks has posted some tips on his blog for getting the most out it which is well worth a view.
