You’ve heard it said “never engage in a land war in Asia”? While none of these developments are the kind of thing that your average user (or heck, even potential user) is likely to use, it’s only a matter of duration before it’s simplified for the rest of us.

iphonehack.jpgOkay, well not your iPhone per se—rather, the iPhone of all of us. Well, a lesser known corollary is that: “never bet against hackers when the most prominent gadget in the world is on the line.”

This announcement came on the




heels of news that hackers had gotten shell access on the iPhone by a serial connection. The only question to my mind is whether Apple will try to beat the hackers to the punch by releasing a full SDK first. Intrepid hackers claim to have gotten access to the iPhone’s file system, and have the done the seemingly impossible: they’ve moved some icons.

In all seriousness, that is likely just the first step on the path to total iPhone domination.
