Since the iPhone was released, the biggest announcement that everyone awaited was hear that the iPhone has been unlocked. While there is no such evidence stating that the iPhone is being unlocked completely, some of the hackers have cleverly tried to do so. These hackers have created a new program called iASign, which can allow unlocking the iPhone. This includes Go phone SIM cards, in addition to any other AT&T SIM’s. While the complete unlocking solution is not yet available they updated the Wiki, by using iASign the iPhone can purportedly be made to work with prepaid SIM cards. As this new software currently works only on a MAC, the teams say that they are working on a GUI and a Windows version of the software as well. Unlocking the

iPhone is a huge milestone, so they are still working hard on a way to completely unlock the phone.

Guide to unlock the iPhone

Before there was a discussion about the hack to unlock the iPhone’s vice-like grip on the SIM it supplied with. Now there is a graphical guide to do just the same job. By using the Cingular or AT&T SIM card, it’s become quite easy to follow the guide. But it is still not possible to use any other carrier’s card (for instance T-Mobile SIM) and it needs an Intel-based Mac to carry it all out, even though it doesn’t look to be much difficult process to follow. Obliviously, to unlock the iPhone entirely is just the first step towards success.
