John Carmack recently announced at the QuakeCon 2008 that the Id Software is currently working on a few projects for the iPhone. John Carmack is the co-founder as well as the technical director of Id Software.
The first project that Id Software is currently working on is the mobile game called Doom2. The second game and project of Id Software is the Wolfenstein RPG. John Carmack said that the latter application is more exciting as well as unexpected.

On the other hand, Todd Hollenshead, the CEO of Id Software said that there is a great possibility that the two projects/games from their company will be introduced for the Apple Inc.’s iPhone. But the two games, the Wolfenstein RPG and the Doom2, are not exclusive for the iPhone alone. The Id Software is also working on these applications so that it can be played in other platforms at the same time.
