iModem offers USB tethering for the iPhone, with a catch
iModem, one of the few applications for sale that requires an iPhone to be jailbroken, allows users to tether their phones via USB cables on Windows PC’s.

Most tethering solutions thus far have required the use of a WiFi connection, requiring sometimes difficult setup. This solution does not require this.
A new release of iModem eliminates the need for proxy settings (a typical requirement of tethering solutions) and also claims enhanced stability and speed of setup.
The tool requires XP or Vista 32/64 bit and has a $10 price tag.
Rumors are swirling that Apple is in talks with AT&T regarding sanctioned tethering in the very near future. Apple big wig Steve Jobs has been quoted on several sites as stating a solution for this is in the works with AT&T.
