Introducing Social Networking with iPhones

iFob, is a real-space social networking software.

This application launched by iCloseBy.com is targetted at the iPhones, iPod touches and PCs with Multitouch. The technology used by iFob here is by using the , iFob Wi-Fi of these iPhones, iPods and PCs and then convert them into devices used for broadcasting, or “just listening” for other users also using iFob.

The most interesting thing about using iFob in your iPhone is that, iFob traces down other users who are in the exact same location, at the exact same time, as each other. The idea behind this is to serve as an icebreaker to real conversations in real time.

This free downloadable software by iFob for iPhone and iPod touch lights up and indicates when anyone else with iFob walks in to the same area. This enables the iPhone users to chat with each other. So at a time when social networking is a craze, it can be observed as a deliberate attempt to encourage iPhone users to keep connected while on the move.

Sounds like a good idea but I think more users need to have the program first. Also better explanations on it’s uses since there seems to be lots of people on tube who are pretty confused.
