My brother just got a Droid and I have an iPhone 3G. I like my 3G better than the Droid merely because of the huge amount of apps that are already available. Many of my core apps are not available on the Android platform yet. That is the key, eventually Android will have more and better apps available. With similar hardware, people are gonna really take a look at what they'll be able to do with the apps that are available. There's no Skype for Android(at least not an actual VOIP app), but these things will find their way to the platform and so will more people.

Developers working on other platforms, i.e. competition, is good news for the iPhone. It will blunt Apple's hubris and force needed changes in the App store and spur Apple to make the iPhone better.
