iPhone approved to sell in South Korea soon?
South Korea is considered one of the most closed markets for many electronic devices of any in the world, but it appears Apple is making inroads to bringing the iPhone to the region, if recent rumors are to be believed.

This recent report comes after months of fire among many in the country and the debate centering around a little known South Korean rule the requires the use of local tech for location (GPS) services in cellphones in the region. This decison creates an exception for only the iPhone, showing how much impact the gadget has had in the marketplace.
Chung Yun-ho, manager of Veyond Partners, a phone consulting firm is quoted as saying: “This is a big strike for the government in saying that this is an open market. Many people regard Korea as an advanced telecom market but they are acknowledging that we are lagging behind in smartphones. They wanted to pressure the telecom companies to embrace new things.”
Change of any kind comes to slowly to certain areas of the world, and that includes South Korea.
Wireless carrier KT is denying a current deal has been signed, saying only that negotiations are ongoing for now. We’ll be here to report any changes in the story as it develops. It’s safe to say the day of the iPhone is dawning in South Korea.
