From the looks of it, it seems that Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone in Russia too. This may be inferred from the news report saying that Apple is launching a localized iTunes in local music stores in Russia on April 21, 2008. In addition to this, billboards advertisements are seen all over Moscow. All leading to a movement which now allows a new firmware downloads for Russian iPhone and iPod Touch users.

This move will however, complicate Russian local online music sales industry, as in the case of the recently closed allofmp3.com which is known to offer the cheapest download services. Evgeniy Chichvarkin, the CEO of largest Russian mobiles retailer Euroset, commented on these rumors: ‘It is great if that is true. Thus, Apple has made another step to iPhone legal sales in Russia and prices for Apple goods might go down to the US or European ones’.
