If you use your iPhone for more of the offline features such as the iPod are simply running low on battery life there is a feature on the iPhone that will help enormously. Even whether you go roaming you can save on documents costs using that tip as well.
whether you navigate to Settings you’ll see at the top “Airport Mode.” What that allows you to do basically is turn off all of the iPhone’s radios. Bluetooth ,Wi-Fi, EDGE and GPRS
This does however mean a substantial increase in battery life which allows you to enjoy your substance longer amoung charges.
In addition using Airplain Mode can be a huge benefit to citizens roaming outside the US or who just want to use their iPhone on an airplane.

I like the “Airplane Mode” function. Its good for many reasons… Here’s 3 to Get You Started:
******BIG TIP*****
DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN USE YOUR ‘WIFI’ WHILE IN AIRPLANE MODE???, SO YOUR CELLPHONE WON’T BE ABLE TO MAKE OR RECEIVE CALLS, but as long as you have ‘wifi’ signal, YOU CAN STILL GO ON THE INTERNET, SEND/RECEIVE EMAILS, use Chat Programs Like “Palringo” and chat on Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, etc. COOL ISN’T IT!
1) When you don’t want to be disturbed, but still use your Iphone, or have it around, like when you’re with your girlfriend, and want to play some ‘music’ with the Ipod and your Built-in Speakers… For those special moments, when an ‘incoming phone call’ would ‘kill the moment’, capture the moment by activating your “Airplane Mode”…
2) When using your Ipod for ‘meditation music’ the last thing you want to happen, is be ‘interrupted’ while you are ’sitting in Lotus’, Immersed in Bliss… Best to switch to “Airplane Mode”, and relax and journey away.
3) During Important Meetings, Interviews, Appointments, etc. It is ‘BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE’, to be answering your ‘cellphone’ during meetings, etc, unless it is a call related to the business at hand. People ‘THINK’ it’s ‘OK’ to do, but ‘just because’ technology allows us to contact people at the ’snap of a finger’, doesn’t mean we have to ‘always be at everyone’s disposal’…
There’s a HIDDEN POWER, behind being able to say ‘I’m Not Available to Take Calls, Right Now’. Just because I have a ‘phone’ doesn’t mean I have to Answer It, ‘just because it’s ringing’. That’s What VoiceMail is for, and Guess WHAT FOLKS??? We Have Visual VoiceMail, so if it IS an Emergency, You’ll know in a ‘FLASH’!
4) To save battery life, when you’re not ‘expecting’ a call from anyone, like if you were in the “subway”, going to “Airplane Mode” save ALOT OF BATTERY LIFE, Because ALL Cellphone will drain their batteries when you are in areas with ‘no reception’, because they will Continuously ’search for signal’, which drains the battery. Better to go to Airplane Mode, since you won’t be able to receive a call, anyways.
5) For Better “Sleep Quality At Night”. Its a “Proven Fact” that Electro-magnetic fields affect our ’sleep patterns’, and our bodies ability to properly regenerate at night. Items from the ‘Digital Alarm Clock’ to the ‘Ceramic Heater’ to the ‘ipod’ or ‘iphone’ charging by your bed, all ‘emit’ electro-magnetic radiation at night, especially ‘cellphones’ because they also ‘broadcast’ multiple radio signals, that bombard your body while you sleep.
Additionally, if you have the ‘Fetch Data’ or ‘Push’ option for emails, then, your Phone will be ‘Beeping’ All Night, disturbing your sleep continuously. Better to put it on ‘Airplane Mode’, and it won’t be broadcast or retrieving any data, while you are sleep, unable to do anything about it anyways.
