While 3G iPhone users from United States have been complaining about the speed, the Canadians are so delighted and satisfied with the service that they get from Rogers. According to the report from the website of Wired Magazine, Rogers currently holds the record of the second fastest network speed around the globe.

Wired.com recently had a poll where over 2,600 users of the second-generation iPhone responded. In the poll, they found out that the customers of Fido as well as Rogers from Canada had a download speed of 1,330 kilobits per second on their iPhone. And that’s just the average
The customers of Rogers and Fido reported that they have been experiencing faster speeds compared to what the US customers are getting. On AT&T’s network, the average speed is only 990 kilobits. But US subscribers must not feel to frustrated. There is a slower speed than what AT&T is giving. Virgin and Optus networks from Australia have the worst speeds, giving only 360 kilobits to its subscribers.

no way…. I’m with Fido and the fastest I’ve ever gotten was 600kbs… typical is 400kbs on 3G and 120kbs on edge. I’d like to know where these people are that are getting 1800kps.
I’m with Rogers, in Burnaby, and i get about 2000 kbs on my 3g iphone. I tested both the 3gs, and 3g side by side. On the basis of surfing the internet, personally i could not justify committing to Rogers insanely long 3 yr contract and paying another 250 plus admin and taxes which work out to 320. no thanks. If they punched their network up to the 3.5 average dl speed, I would. But seeing as, I think, they’re keeping the costs down, I’m not jumping ship until they’re fair and square. I feel sorry for people who bought their 3gs expecting the 3-4 mbs dl speeds, and still average close, not much more than a 3g does. I noticed about a 30% difference in increased download of websites. I think Rogers is asking us to take it up the arse, just like we do the 3 yrs. I’m sure they can open their lines more to reach an average 3.5. They just don’t want to incur the extra costs. “It’s 2nd best in the world right? Better than At&t.” I think it comes down to a cost benefit for them imo. And us Canadians being so nice. Just wait till another iphonerunied.com site pops up. What ever had to prevention?
