Over the years, everyone has heard of the infamous Mac vs. PC holy wars which eventually became the Mac vs. Windows holy war. Although Mac OS X and the iPod/iPhone halo effect is helping Apple chip away at the Windows dominance stronghold its held for many years, think about this… Could the iPhone’s touch-screen interface, eventually assemble its way to the Mac OS? Picture this… Back in 1984, Apple said, “If you know how to point, you already know how to use a mouse.” Imagine turning on your Mac and never using a

mouse again… Imagine using your finger to navigate your Mac… Imagine resizing pictures at the pinch of a finger… Imagine flipping through Cover Flow in the Finder or in iTunes with your finger… Is it more of an elaborate thought, or could it someday become a remarkable revolution in the computer industry? The Mac OS has always led the way in innovation. Think of what a touch-screen interface for your Mac could mean… In the words of Apple… “Imagine That.”

damn I swear to god I was just thinking the same exact thing the same day you wrote that. I was thinking about the OS used in the movie “minority report” and it seems to be the same concept that you were talking about. The mouse would be a lot easier to use so i doubt they will come out with an OS that was one big touch screen. Your right that it would be cool for cover flow but for technical stuff it would be a pain in the ass…. Copying pasting, video editing, picture editing, drafting….. Shit like that you would definitly need a percise pointer and not a fat greasy finger. Cool idea though.
