I think they should change Changewave’s name to The iPhone Survey Company. Changewave is back and that moment they have talked to by 3000 citizens who are planning on buying a new cell phone in the next 6 months.

According to the survey, reported on PC World, 16% of those participating said their phone of choice will be the iPhone. Extrapolate that nationwide and that could mean some serious numbers.

The study plus comments that Motorola is the one that will suffer the most by that surge by the iPhone. It’s no surprise as they are #1- they have the most to lose.

While

Motorola retains the largest (31 percent) market share, the company has lost two percentage points—while Apple has already picked-up one percent of the mobile market according to ChangeWave.

Another interesting stat accumulated by Changewave shows that 77% of iPhone users claim to be “very satisfied” with their phone. I will look forward to hearing how that number increases or decreases a year from now. I composition that the “specialness” of owning an iPhone right now does more for the user’s perceived satisfaction than the actual phone’s features and reliability do.
