The latest enterprise focus of the Apple Inc. for the 3G iPhone is definitely promising. However, according to several analysts, the company still has a lot of work to do regarding their hardware as well as software issues before the device can be embraced by the corporate environment.

iPhone 3G

Although the CEO of Apple Inc. mentioned in WWDC that the new iPhone has a lot of improved features such as GPS and 3G technology, he did not mention anything about the reliability of the device’s hardware and software. Coming from the same analysts, there might be some issues regarding the battery of the device, the built-in software, and security features at the same time.

With the help of the iPhone 2.0 SDK, developers also get the chance to create native applications for the smartphone. But these

applications will only be distributed at the App Store of the company. This would require the users to install the iTunes on their iPhones. Unfortunately, not all users are willing to install this application on their iPhones.

Furthermore, the iPhone must also have support tools before it can be adopted in the corporate world. Apple must provide a tool that would delete the data of the user if the iPhone was stolen or refurbished. (Remember the issue of the personal info recovered from the refurbished iPhone?)

Probably, this new 3G iPhone cannot compete yet with RIM’s BlackBerry unless Apple Inc. has already addressed their issues and make the features and device support perfect. However, no doubt Apple will still gain from the 3G iPhone since there has been so much interest given on this next-generation iPhone.
