Apple is really on its way in expanding its market. Recently, Apple just signed a contract with Hutchison Telecom in Asia so that the latter can legally distribute iPhones in Hong Kong and its neighbor – Macau. Both Hong Kong and Macau used to be colonies. But now, both of them are part of the regions of China.

According to the press release that Hutchison Telecom posted on its official website, the company has verified the deal between them and Apple. Moreover, in the same press release, Hutchison Telecom also mentioned that the iPhone will be introduced in Macau and Hong Kong this 2008.
The Hutchison Telecom is no longer a newbie when it comes to rendering mobile service. It already offers 2G as well as 3G services in countries such as Sri Lanka, Ghana, Australia,
The spokesman of Hutchison Telecom has not much to say about the deal. This is because they have this confidential agreement with the other company where they cannot talk much detail which is beyond the formal publication.
From the newspaper called Reuters, it stated that the people in Hong Kong are already using iPhones which was bought from unofficial channels. And because of this, the iPhones are not expected to be a big hit in Hong Kong and other parts of China unlike it did in United States. However, Apple still needs to close a deal with the China Mobile so that it can reach to at least 400 million potential customers.
Aside from Hong Kong and Macau, the iPhones are expected to land at Singapore, Australia and Philippines before this year ends.
