Recently Softbank Corp., a mobile carrier in Japan has announced that they had a deal with Apple Inc. to distribute the iPhones in the country before 2008 ends. Unfortunately, Naoki Nakayama, the spokesman for Softbank Corp., did not mention any more details regarding the deal. Many people are still asking about the price of the iPhone, when will it be officially distributed, and where can they buy Apple’s smartphone. But Nakayama did not answer any of these. Moreover, Naomi Nakayama also stated that it is not yet clear whether they have an exclusive deal with Apple Inc. or not.

And now that the iPhone is added to the mobile market of Softbank Corp., this will definitely become one of the assets of the company. The locals of Japan are very famous for its love
Currently, Softbank Corp. has more than 18 million subscribers all over Japan. Unfortunately, that is not enough to make the company the leading mobile service provider in the country. The first two companies on the top ranks are the KDDI Corp. and NTT DoCoMo.
Now that Softbank Corp. has closed the deal with Apple Inc. the NTT DoCoMo is very much unhappy since they know that the user-friendly and the attractive interface of the iPhone will surely draw gadget-lovers in Japan to purchase the iPhone. The NTT DoCoMo is still not certain whether they still want to pursue an iPhone deal with Apple Inc. or not.
