iPod Touch 2.0 almost jailbroken, says Dev Team
The 2nd generation iPod Touch proved very tricky to break, but the Dev Team has made the first big step toward a full-on jailbreak for the iPhone’s companion device, which has proven even more popular in some ways than the iPhone.

Many have been waiting for the Dev Team to break the device, and it may finally be happening.
The Dev Team stumbled upon the break (almost accidently) when making yellowsn0w, the iPhone jailbreaker, but says the touch’s jailbreak is far too manual a process to be done by most people at this point. But this is the first big breakthrough and it’s become a focus of the Team’s efforts. Once again, Apple can’t seem to make anything the Team can’t break in some fashion or another.
Here’s the link to their blog where they detail the initial steps of the jailbreak: http://blog.iphone-dev.org/post/70407787/thermonuclear-pop
