Word on the street is that the new iPod Touch runs the same OS and uses the same binaries as the iPhone. After yesterday we all already knew that the two operating systems looked the same, and that the iPod touch already has nearly all of the same applications and the same goods entry and all the same iPod type functions that came with the iPhone.

So why is the iPod touch lost some of the apps from the iPhone? One person has already speculated that its considering Apple wanted to separate the two devices. Basically they wanted to construct the differences more prevalent than the PDA vs. the Smartphone where the only difference is cellular network connection.
