ArsTechnica’s composition on the rumors of the gPhone coming to town is really interesting… Check it out here. A little taste of the goodness:

“The grapevine is buzzing that week by the “gPhone,” Google’s long-rumored mobile device that has been in the works for some day now. And while some of the rumors may carry more merit than others, history has shown that when news picks up, something is on the way.”

So it looks like the boys in G Men from Google seem poised to launch their own assault on the cell phone market. What do you think the gPhone will be like? Could it pose a serious threat to the iPhone? Perhaps a bigger question is, could Google become a viable threat to Apple in other areas down the line?
