Is there a hope for Canadian iPhone anticipators?

The exclusive carrier of 3G iPhone in United States recently announced the final pricing of the 3G iPhone and the service plan that will be offered to its customers on July 11. The company also said that they would offer a contract-less 3G iPhone which will cost as much as $599 for the 8 GB model and $699 for the $699. Since Rogers from Canada is not yet revising its service plans like Telia from Sweden did, this news from AT&T will be great for the Canadians who do not wish to sign a contract with Rogers.

However, AT&T did not reveal much detail. According to the spokesman from AT&T, there is nothing more to share about the contract-less deal. But if you are looking to have a contract-free iPhone, then you must wait for at least a few months after July 11. And probably, when the retail shortages are finally over, you can now purchase a 3G iPhone from AT&T without the need to sign for a contract.

Apple Inc. has already announced the price of the 3G iPhone in United States. The 8 GB model will be sold for only $199 and the 16 GB model is only $299 provided that they have a 24-month contract with the AT&T. This is a greater deal compared to the rate offered by Rogers from Canada. Rogers is currently offering a three-year contract and very expensive data plans.
