When the iPhone’s specifications were announced, there were many who made comparisons - generally unfavourable - with it and many of the advanced handsets available in Japan, along with the prediction that, style notwithstanding, the relatively archaic connectivity would see it a commercial failure there. However, a recent survey
by Mitsubishi Research Institute and Rakuten Research has found that a surprising 27.6-percent of Japanese mobile phone users would buy an iPhone whether it were to become available in the country.
