Beejiive released its new product named Jive Talk for iPhones. It is the multi- platform instant messaging client for the Apple iPhone. The new Beejive’s Jive Talk IM has many features which include AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google Talk, Jabber and ICQ. The Beejive’s Jive talk for iPhone seems to be the first IM client. It is just in its early stages but one is expecting a storm of new releases in the coming weeks. After middling attempts of meebo, eBuddy and trillion last week, it seems like some developers are stepping into the race of the iPhone IM challenge. The good news is that the vast majority of Jive Talk functions work as expected, despite it being a mere alpha release. With the exception of Google Talk, Vincent had no trouble accessing his IM accounts which refused to play ball and it was relatively easy to flick between pages. There is no need to pay for the text message either, because it uses the iPhone’s data connection. Due to the occasional connection errors the whole experience was spoiled. It looks like Beejive has taken the lead for IM on the IPhone, but for an alpha, the Trillian is just a beginner.
