Lockbox - the first native password manager application for the iPhone - has been updated to Version 0.5.

lockbox for iphone

This version now includes features like:

  • Tags - apply multiple tags to items, and filter view items by multiple tags
  • Option to hide secret items in the list view
  • Option to edit items upon selection (ie tap the item anywhere)
  • Change password
  • Lockbox locks

Lockbox is still a very basic feeling iphone app, but it’s nice to see an update with some real progress.  The edit on choose and hiding of passwords on the main list screen are particularly nice additions to see

You can grab the latest Lockbox version via Installer or at the program’s Google cipher project page:

A bit confusing to sort types of password, with the risk to loose all the information if you make a small mistake when sorting categories. After loosing important password twice I gave up on using Lockbox.

Yeah, I had some nasty bug where I’d write empty data and corrupt stuff, that is now fixed in 0.7.1 Give it another try Dan

      Updated to 0.7.1, iPhone 1.1.4.

After typing in 30+ passwords, twice, and having it forget them, I give up. Version 0.5 worked better and didn’t forget things. Hopefully this gets resolved in the future as it was a good program for me, but I can’t trust it anymore.

Is lockbox an apple aproved app yet? It was the one thing I missed the most when I unhacked my phone (for repair purposes.) I want to go to 2.0 but I know I would miss lockbox and end up carrying a long strip of paper with all my passwords on it, in my wallet again.
