Microsoft’s Ballmer states that “the internet isn’t designed for the iPhone”
Microsoft exec Steve Ballmer has been known to talk major smack about the iPhone in general, and this time he states that the internet wasn’t designed for the iPhone. Really? An invention created decades ago wasn’t made for a smartphone that came out 2 years ago. Imagine that.

Here’s his exact quote: “Let’s face it, the Internet was designed for the PC. The Internet is not designed for the iPhone. That’s why they’ve got 75,000 applications – they’re all trying to make the Internet look decent on the iPhone.”
Well, I don’t how fart apps make the internet look decent, but that’s a different argument entirely. The fact is, Microsoft is envious that the iPhone belongs to Apple, not MS, and they take their shots wherever they can, regardless of the sense of the debate.
It brings up an interesting question though: Many smartphones don’t do the internet (browsing anyway) very well, besides the iPhone. It’s still a fledgling industry, and how will companies (and the internet itself) adapt to the changing face of the web?
