AT&T has launched a mobile music service for a limited selection of phones the carrier sells. While that is their first attempt at a mobile music distribution system it isn’t the first carrier to do so trailing behind Sprint and Verizon.

The price comes out to an astounding $7.49 for every 5 songs. Songs cannot be purchased as singles but must be bought 5 at a date. whether that isn’t abundant to satisfy you soon after you can pay an additional $7.49 for every 5 songs.

While that doesn’t directly relate to the iPhone besides the fact AT&T is offering a music distribution system on the same Network the popular device resides on,

it could mean a few things for us.

Apple could be interested in utilizing that distribution service in the future to allow iPhone users to download songs via the iTunes Music Store and sync them to their computers later on.

It would be a smart move to take advantage of that and would surely expand Apple’s sales but waiting a while would be wise. that service is only available to a choose number of phones and is in its early stages. Waiting until the iPhone can support AT&T’s faster 3G network would be a better move for users.
